Arne Elmeroth

Arne Elmroth, M.Sc., Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Building Physics at Lund University, Sweden

Arne Elmroth has worked throughout his career with heating, air safety and moisture issues in buildings and in various engineering applications. He was the leader in several different contexts and he conducted evaluations of large and complex full-scale projects, where new technologies were applied to energy-efficient dwellings. These studies contributed valuable knowledge regarding the functioning of buildings during normal use with focus on the interaction between the buildings and their installations. Since 1986, Arne has been the Chairman of ISO/TC 163 and coordinator of projects in the IEA (International Energy Agency) concerning the airtightness of buildings and the use of solar energy in conjunction with the renovation of existing buildings. He has also served as an expert on the European Commission during the preparation of the EC Directive on the energy. Arne is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA). Arne was also Professor of Building Technology at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm.
