Effectivness of the ventilation in bedrooms!

At the RoomVent 2014 conference later this autumn, we shall be reporting a field experiment on sleep that was performed with a “gold-standard” cross-over design (one week with poor ventilation, one week with covertly improved ventilation, and subjects blind to condition). In this experiment we succeeded in showing that improving the air quality in a bedroom not only improved sleep – the subjects spent less time awake during each night – but also that next-day performance improved significantly – the subjects performed an on-line task more effectively on the days following the nights when their bedroom had been properly ventilated.
