History: Air test in schools promoted by nurse Florence Nightingale!

Florence Nightingale, nurse working in hospital in 19th century, promoted the importance of the internal environment in relation to air quality, temperature and day lighting. She wished that CO2 sensors would be used as a simple air test in everyday life in buildings.

“Oh! The crowded national school! Where so many children´s epidemics have their origins. What a tale its air test would tell! We should have parents saying… I will not send my child to that school, the air-test stands at ´Horrid´.”
