Rules of thumbs for passive house: Design approach and system choices!

What to do when you are designing and building a passive house. Big DO´s are:

  • Integrate passive house into your design approach from the earliest possible point
  • Use PHPP (Passive House Planning Package) as a design tool to understand, influence and improve design
  • Make the building itself do all the hard work in achieving passive house economically
  • Ensure that orientation, form and fenestration are optimized
  • Select a construction system that is appropriate for your building type, form and function, procurement and contractor
