What are DON´TS when designing a passive house?

When designing a passive house don´t:

  • assume that a building specification from a previous development will suit all future passive house buildings
  • be over-reliant on glazing

The essential elements of the thermal envelope and form factor are important when designing a passive house. Don´t forget on rainscreen, wind tight vapour open layer, super insulation, air tight layer, structural and service zones.
