What are the DON´Ts when designing a passive house?

Don´t:

  • Leave passive house until late in the desing process or treat PHPP (Passive House Planning Package) as a compliance check late in the design
  • Assume that passive house dictates any particular construction system
  • Combine unnecessarily different construction systems within one building
  • Create design problems such as thermal bridges or challenging air tightness details by using unnecessary cantilevered structures or structural penetrations
